Invest UP and IACC Collaborate to Boost Bilateral Trade for Uttar Pradesh Businesses
Industry Meeting with Senior MEA Officials Focuses on Export Development, Agribusinesses, and ODOP Products and Promotion
Lucknow, 19th Dec 23— Invest UP, in collaboration with the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), orchestrated a pivotal industry meeting featuring senior IFS officials from Ministry of External Affairs, Mr. Anurag Srivastava, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs responsible for Nepal affairs, Mr. Piyush Srivastava, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs overseeing Western Europe affairs, and Mr. Vipul, Indian Ambassador to Qatar.
The gathering brought together Uttar Pradesh's influential industry and business leaders in a roundtable session. Mukesh Singh, Executive Director and Chairman of IACC in UP, welcomed the dignitaries, highlighting the meeting's primary objective: enhancing bilateral trade between Uttar Pradesh and the respective nations with an emphasis to the imperative need of Agri business in the state for more awareness towards various procedures, standards and certification requirements for promoting exports.
Mr. Anurag Srivastava shared insights, stating, "The Integrated Checkpoints on the Nepal-India border have been strategically developed to foster efficient trade mechanisms, emphasizing the importance of bilateral cooperation, and further boost trade between India and Nepal."
Mr. Piyush Srivastava further emphasized, "To boost bilateral trade, it is imperative to organize targeted trade delegations and establish nodal associations, ensuring seamless communication with Indian missions abroad. This is crucial, especially for agri-based businesses looking to expand."
Mr. Vipul, the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, affirmed, "Our mission in Qatar is dedicated to collaborating with UP Invest, conducting educational sessions, and facilitating connections to promote Uttar Pradesh's export development programs. We are particularly focused on agri-based businesses, aligning with the One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative."
The meeting, attended by industry leaders representing technology, automotive, retail, hospitality, and education sectors, aimed to foster collaboration and explore opportunities for Uttar Pradesh's economic development through robust export initiatives, with a special emphasis on agribusinesses and the promotion of ODOP - One District One Product.
